Peak District
National Park - Moors for the Future
The Peak District National Park Authority,
together with the National Trust and other
partners have submitted a Heritage Lottery
bid concerning the long term management and
restoration of the Peak Moorlands. I was retained
to help design the sustainability indicators
regarding public access, visitor management
and interpretation. I have also helped to
prepare a strategy for increasing public understanding
of the moors and edited the final HLF bid
documents. In August 2001 I was retained by
the National Park Authority to progress the
bid to a successful Stage 2 application. |

Peak Environment
Fund
I was appointed as a trustee of the Peak Environment
Fund in 1997. The Fund was an experimental
new regional environmental charity established
to raise voluntary donations from visitors
to and businesses within the Peak District
area in order to support countryside management
projects. I retired as a trustee in December
1998 to work one day a week as the Fund's
Business Development Manager for nine months. |

Sherwood Forest
Interpretation Systems Plan
In August 2001 I was commissioned to prepare
a strategy for interpretation and "branding"
of the Sherwood Forest area, as part of the
successful HLF funded Sherwood Initiative.
The initiative is designed to enhance the
profile of the area and encourage more coordination
between the different organisations responsible
for its management and development. |
